Class Placement Requests
Should you wish to submit a placement request for your child for the 2013-14 school year, please following our established protocol which includes: all requests come in the form of a letter addressed to the Principal; requests may be made for a style of classroom, but not for a specific teacher; specific needs for your child can be explained in detail; and any other special circumstances that should be considered when placing your child, please provide details.

Grade 8 Graduation
Graduation is Thursday June 20th@ 6:30pm at Heights City Church (Kingston Rd./Rosebank Rd.N.). Graduates should arrive at 6:00pm. Please note, tickets are required for this event, and an order form has been distributed to all grade 8 students. Tickets will be collected at the entrance to the venue. We respectfully request that only family members attend this function due to limited space. Any questions, please contact the school office.

Kindergarten Parent Night
Highbush has Full Day Kindergarten. On June 5th, 2013, we will host our Welcome to Kindergarten session. This evening is a hands-on program for our new JK students sponsored by the Learning Partnership. Each new JK attending the session is provided with some valuable resources in a take-home kit to support early learning at home. The session begins at 6:30pm in the school gymnasium.

May is Optimism month. This month, we think about hope. We work hard to achieve our goals and beilieve that anything is possible. As gardens start to bloom, the sun shines longer and more often, and warm clothes are shed for short-sleeves, we have a renewed sense of hopefulness and optimism. Lego Donations Please!
Our Jump Rope for Heart event was held last Friday. The weather held off long enough to be able to skip to the beat. Our Hoops for Heart event has been rescheduled for this week. Thank you to our generous community for raising over $7000 so far for this worthwhile cause!!
A special thank-you to the City of Pickering for providing mulch to keep our trees and gardens healthy. Thank you to Mr.Ringrose and the intermediate students who helped spread this mulch.
As we enter into the warmer months, it is important to communicate appropriate dress for school, a place of learning. Shorts must be the length of straight arms to the fingertips and pulled up at all times. T-shirts/tank tops must have straps two-fingers wide and be conservative/concealing of cleavage.
